Porsche 996 Turbo Coolant block seperation

2002 Porsche 996

Engine Issue

Miles: 69,069
Date of First Occurrence (D/M/Y): 01/01/2021
DTC Codes (if any): None
Parts List:
Approximate Cost to Fix:

Description of Issue:

Porsche used a glue to keep nipples in the coolant block. As the vehicles age this glue can let go and your entire coolant system can be dumped onto the road in a matter of seconds. Additional risk is coolant getting on the rear tires causing loss of grip.

Resolution if Known:

The engine is to be removed, and those nipples pinned and/or welded to the block to stop them from coming out

Sharkwerks did an awesome write up and posted pictures on how to fix this
