2002 Porsche 996

Miles: 125,000

DTC Codes (if any): None
Parts List:

Rennkit E-Ram Kit

Approximate Cost to Fix: $1,700

Description of Issue:

The Porsche wing rams are electrical hydraulic. There is only a sensor on one side to tell the computer if the wing is up or down. This sensor or a ram could fail. Sometimes the wing will go up on one side only or sometimes the sensor fails and even thought the wing operates as it should, the computer is unaware of the position of the wing so you get a warning on the dash that the aero system has failed.

Resolution if Known:

You can either replace the factory system, which is very costly, or you can purchase a rennkit E-ram kit which gets rid of hydraulics as it is a fully electrical system.
