The factory exhaust valves on the Ferrari 458 (or almost any Ferrari for that matter) are vacuum actuated. They can make the car sound very quiet which is perhaps nice only when you are trying to be nice to your neighbors or start the car up early in the morning. The rest of the time you likely want it to be loud and proud!

The good news is that to disable the exhaust valves is very simple. All you have to do is pull the vacuum hose that controls the valves, and plug it up. That’s it! No check engine light, no more quiet car, no worries. Best of all it’s free and very easy to do it yourself.

My friend Fred invited me over to his house so we could pull the exhaust valves on his Ferrari 458. This was his first time wrenching on a Ferrari. The project only took about 15 minutes and Fred was very pleased with the results! Thanks Fred!
