My garage door was misbehaving recently so I was about to go adjust the limits so it wouldn’t shut too hard and before I got a chance, it shredded the belt then ripped the track right out of the wall!!! It self-destructed right in front of me.

This meant I could not open the door as it was not attached to the wall so both of my Ferraris were trapped. This is the definition of a first world problem.

So my buddy Andy and I fixed the door by installing a new header 2×6 board of wood screwed into the studs, and then re-attaching the track to the board. We also had to replace the belt drive on the garage door opener.
