Part 17 of the Ferrari 348 DIY Major Engine Out Service. The Ferrari 348 requires the engine to be pulled every 3-5 years or 25,000 miles to replace the timing belts. Usually this also entails replacing many other components such as the tensioners, water pump, bearings, and pulleys. Typically this service starts at around $10,000 at most reputable shops, and can easily cost upwards of $25,000. We are going full bore and replacing almost everything that can wear so the engine will be almost as good as new and give Tim many years of use.
It’s finally time to try and start the Ferrari 348! Is the internet right? Did we totally screw up the engine? Will it even turn over? Will it run properly? Did we smash more valves? Let’s find out and see if we can finally drive this amazing car under it’s own power.
